Remember The Velvet Underground

Reported by simple

In March The Velvet Underground will re-release their debut album, 1967’s The Velvet Underground & Nico as a special two CD set. The release will come with plenty of bells and whistles, the most newsworthy of which is the inclusion of what is believed to be the earliest VU recording in existence. The two disc set of the VU & Nico album will include a disc of the original stereo album with five songs off of Nico’s Chelsea Girls album tacked on the end. Disc two will feature a mono mix of several of the songs plus a track called "Miss Joanie Lee," which was not originally on the album. This will be the first time that the song, which is believed to have been recorded during a VU rehearsal in 1966, will reach the public’s ears.
