Sympathy For The Record Industry

White Stripes have signed to a two album deal with V2 Records, leaving long time label Sympathy For The Record Industry. The contract allows the group to maintain ownership of its masters and also gives V2 the option to distribute anyone on Third Man Records, Jack White's label. V2 President, Andy Gershon, had this to say: "It's a bit of an unconventional deal ... but I expect and plan on being involved with the White Stripes for what I hope will be the entirety of my career." Head over to Pollstar for upcoming White Stripes tour dates, if you like in the UK.
