Yet Another Show We Cannot Attend

Reported by heyrevolver

As you know, there have been reports floating around various websites stating that the new Radiohead album will be released on June 10th (while SU has guessed at June 3rd for quite some time). Well as rumors aren't necessarily bankable, if you'd like some solid facts, we can let you know that w.a.s.t.e. has confirmed an appearance by Radiohead at this year's Glastonbury Festival on June 28th. 500 tickets will be sold through the w.a.s.t.e. shop starting on April 1st, so don't dawdle when the time comes. There are no reports of any Radiohead shows in the US this year. Maybe they're punishing us for our president.

Concern for Africa = Show

Reported by erun

Belle and Sebastian are to headline a benefit show in Glasgow (Scotland) for the charity Concern. The emphasis is the charity's appeal to highlight the food crisis in Africa. The one-off show at the city's Royal Concert Hall on May 17 will also feature The Delgados. I know we're primarily and American audience, but I'm sure you've got friends in Europe to tell this to, right?

This Note Could Win Me A Grammy

Reported by erun

Aside from the fact that, out of all the singing occuring at the abysmal Grammies, only two people could sing, here are some people worthy of award, however naff said award may be: Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, No Doubt, Coldplay, Korn, The Flaming Lips, India.Arie, Outkast, Johnny Cash, and Solomon Burke. The Clash snagged a best Long Form Video, and Jimmy Sturr proved quite an upset in the Best Polka Album category, by the way.

Eminem's Next Movement

Reported by heyrevolver

How can Eminem top last year's Grammy duet with Elton John? How about enlisting The Roots as his backup band? Sounds good to me. They'll be performing Em's 8 Mile hit, "Lose Yourself," together on this Sunday's broadcast. Also be on the lookout for an all-star Joe Strummer tribute featuring Dave Grohl, Bruce Springsteen and Elvis Costello. The rest of the awards show, however, should be the usual, boring corporate circle-jerk train wreck.

Put your hands on the wheel...

Reported by heyrevolver

Oh joy, more news from the wonderful world of Marilyn Manson... Apparently, he intends to direct "mOBSCENE", the first video from his upcoming album The Golden Age of the Grotesque, himself. The song itself is supposed to be an ode to playwright Oscar Wilde (any English majors out there?) and the video will include "a giant Victrola, painting an elephant black, [and] setting pianos on fire." Okay. In other Manson news, he'll be embarking on a mini-tour (dates yet to be announced) before this summer's Ozzfest.

Yoko Cuts a Rug with Petshop Boys

Reported by erun

Yoko Ono and the Petshop Boys have recorded a dance version of John Lennon's final song, "Walking on Thin Ice." I believe the lyrics to one Lennon song went: "The way things are goin'/ They're gonna crucify me." How 'bout exploit? Wonder if it's good?

Reported by erun

Bob Dylan, LL Cool J and Crosby, Stills and Nash will perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, which runs from April 24th to May 4th. Talk about your diverse line-up- "Goin' Back to Cali" vs. "Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man?"
