Q-Tip Back in the Tribe

Q-Tip is recording his third solo album with plans for an early 2004 on the Dreamworks label. The vivrant tip will also rejoin A Tribe Called Quest, who have reunited and recorded several songs, though no release plans are set.

Lost Notes from Collaborations

The Six Part Seven will release a split EP with the Black Keys this fall. The group is also recruiting acts including Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock and Pedro the Lion's David Bazan to record their tunes for Lost Notes From Forgotten Songs, due later this year.

How Many Guests At the DJ Booth

Mark Ronson of NY DJ fame is putting out his first album, Here Comes the Fuzz, which hits record stores August 26th. Guests to the cluster-shupp of a debut include Mos Def, Jack White of the White Stripes, ?uestlove, Nikka Costa, Nappy Roots and Rivers Cuomo of Weezer. Read more about it here.

Here Comes Everyone

The Damnwells have assemble some dates for July and August. Selected dates will feature solo, acoustic performances from frontman Alex Dezen, opening for Rhett Miller. In other news, the band is almost finished with their follow-up to PMR and expect to release the full-length in September. The band is also currently working on a video for the song "Sleepsinging" with video artists The Haus. Coldplay Put A Smile On My Face

Coldplay have released the song "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face" as the next, international single from A Rush Of Blood To The Head. The song won't see a release in the US or UK, but you can at least go check out the video for the song at the "In My Place" fan's area of coldplay.com.

Tori Amos is, according to Neil Gaimen's online journal and thedent.com currently rehearsing with her band for the Summer 2003 tour AND for the new song(s) on her upcoming Greatest Hits CD. "Snow Cherries From France" is said to be on the set list on her upcoming tour, which will be Tori's last time on the road until at least 2005.

Surfing on Sewage Sinewaves

Aphex Twin is one of the contributors to a Longlife/Surfers Against Sewage touring exhibition/auction of custom surfboards. Other people to contribute designs include Damien Hirst, Jamie Hewlett, and Paul Kaye. You can bid online for the custom-painted boards, all profits go towards supporting Surfers against Sewage. The tour culminates in a big party in Newquay, Cornwall, on 16th August 2003.

Liz Phair supports masochism

If you've got your copy of the latest Liz Phair release (entitled Liz Phair) you are eligible to download an Internet only EP entitled Comeandgetit. The five track EP is available as one 13-minute ASF file from Capitol Records. Oh, and if you happen to have iTunes you can download the outtake track "Insanity" from the Apple Music Store. If neither of these apply, you'll just have to go see her on tour and scream out the song titles incessantly until she agrees to play them.

A Perfect September

Tool is now on the back-burner again as MJK and A Perfect Circle have set, as we told you, the release date for APC's second album, Thirteenth Step, on September 16th. Guitarist Billy Howerdel and drummer Josh Freese are still in the band (not, thank bejesus, James Iha) and Jeordie White (Twiggy Ramirez of Marilyn Manson) has joined.
