Spiritualized Joins The Sanctuary

Spiritualized will release their new album Amazing Grace on September 8th, and as usual, we have some Windows Media audio streams for you to get a taste of what is to come (She Kissed Me / Cheapster). The album will be released on J Spaceman's own Spaceman Records through the Sanctuary Records Group, and the band is currently scheduling extensive live dates in the UK, US and Europe to support the new album.

The Stereophonics Mega Store

The Stereophonics are doing a short Virgin Megastore string of shows across the US in which they play a 30 minute set and then sign stuff for hours and hours after. It is all in suppport of their latest album, You Gotta Go There To Come Back which hits stores September 9th.

It's Once Again Time For Real Protection

According to MTV.com, it seems Page Hamilton has decided to reunite Helmet. Though before you jump for joy, "reunite" doesn't seem to include the original lineup these days (ahem, GN'R). Instead, Hamilton has signed on former members of Orange 9mm and a couple Rob Zombie bandmates to fill in the gaps. It's also reported that NIN keyboardist Charlie Clouser will produce the band's new album. In other news, a tour is currently being scheduled to support the Helmet retrospective, Helmet Unsung: The Very Best of Helmet (1991-1997), due out sometime in early November (despite previous reports that stated September 23rd).

Never Is A Promise

According to an article in the New York Times, which you can read over at this site, it seems producer/musician Jon Brion claims the new Fiona Apple album won't be out until February of next year - pushed back yet again. Though, in the article Brion discusses the song "Oh Well" quite a bit, and hints a possible solo album in the near future. Dammit, we'll see.

Too Bad For Hell... The All American Rejects

On September 30th, The All-American Rejects will be releasing a live DVD containing footage from a May 30th show in Tulsa, OK, entitled Live From Oklahoma... Too Bad For Hell!. In other news, the band also just finished shooting a video for their next single, "Time Stands Still", which was directed by Meiert Avis (U2, Audioslave).

As previously reported, Chevelle were in the midst of pulling together a live, bootleg CD release. Well, the Loeffler brothers have compiled Live From The Road, a 10 track album culled from Chevelle's headlining club date from earlier in the year. Starting on August 26th, you'll be able to pre-order the album, which will ship on September 2nd. Rock Over London, Rock On Wesley

According to the Alternative Tentacles website, Wesley Willis passed away on Thursday, August 21st. Willis had been diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia, and after surgery to suppress internal bleeding his health steadily declined. If you've never heard them, go out and pick up any one of Willis' 50 albums and enjoy the novelty of it.

MxPx In The House

MxPx will be covering the Animal House "Theme Song" as well as the hit party song "Shout", for the upcoming 25th anniversary edition of National Lampoon’s Animal House. The band also shot a video for “Shout” that will be included on the special edition anniversary DVD that is scheduled for release on August 26th. The band will also be playing a short set during the red carpet re-launch party on August 21st.

The A.M. Cometh

The A.M. (which features Michael Tighe and Parker Kindred, who played with Jeff Buckley) recently signed with a UK label called Storm Music and are currently doing a short US and UK tour. The band’s self-titled debut album will be released in the UK on October 6th, but no date has been announced for the US yet. So if you wanna hear them, you better check the band out on tour sometime.
