Antenna Is Busted Anyhow

Reported by heyrevolver

Cave In bassist Caleb Scofield recently talked to the Las Vegas Weekly about the direction for the band's follow-up to Antenna. He stated, and I quote: "The next time around we're definitely just going to let go of a lot of the inhibitions we had when we were recording Antenna, and we're just going to have a lot more fun. It's definitely going to be a lot heavier and a lot weirder." He said, you read it. Now deliver, fools! We liked Antenna, but we longed for Jupiter.

Entirely Detached

Reported by heyrevolver

Hey! Detachment Kit have finsihed their new album, but we don't have any information. Why not? Well, because they don't know when it will be released. Bummer, huh? To tide the fans over, the Kit are in the process of assembling an EP, almost entirely self-recorded, produced and mixed, to sell at upcoming shows in November. There's also news of another EP, but details on it are pretty shady. Well, go read it for yourself and let me know what you decipher. Lastly, watch for the band to appear on some random MTV commerical in the near future. Your guess is as good as mine on that one.

The studio session will produce 15 tracks, but the final set will trimmed down to include 11 new songs. Here's the tracks in order of priority from Mr. Haha himself...

Hey, hey, hey, it's like being stoned

Reported by robin

Cracker will release Countrysides, an album of country-music covers, on October 14. Rolling Stone reports that the album is an “exploration of the counter-culture part of country music. The long-hair, hippie, pot-smoking part of country music that [we] never realized Cracker had been so influenced by.” Apparently, I am not the only one baffled and slightly annoyed with this new effort. Virgin records has dropped the band from the label because of disagreement over the direction of this album. A highlight of the album is the track, “Ain’t Gonna Suck Itself”, dedicated to Virgin Records.
