Over the last couple years rumors have been floating around about an Evan Dando, James Iha, Ryan Adams and Melissa Auf Der Maur supergroup called The Fucking Virgins. Recently speaking with ChartAttack.com, Auf Der Maur said of the Virgins, "I hope to do it. I’ll probably have to be the ring leader to bring us together and do it at some point..."

Bowery Ballroom Benefit

On May 11th, a show dubbed F*** Cancer will be held at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC to benefit Jackie Farry, a young tour manager suffering from multiple myeloma. Featured acts include J Mascis, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Har Mar Superstar, a solo set by Cat Power and a special performance from Chavez, who reunited for this show.

Bowie Concert Cancelled

David Bowie showed good taste in cancelling his concert Thursday, May 6th in Miami after a local stagehand suffered a fatal fall just before the show. Fans were told that refund or rescheduling information would be available soon and that Bowie and his personnel were "deeply saddened" by the accident.

No, no, it's not a description; it's the title of Gene Simmons' new solo album due out June 8th. Talk about ecclectic! ASSHOLE contains collaborations between Simmons and such legends as Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa and the Zappa Family (Dweezil, Moon, etc.) as well as folks like Dave Navarro and former KISS members Bruce Kulick and Eric Singer.

Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned is the new record from The Prodigy due out this August. Liam Howlett says that although the always-recognizable Keith Flint and Maxim were not involved musically on the album, they will be with the band for their tour later this year. Wicked!

DJ Shadow In Tune

Due out June 15th, a CD/DVD package entitled In Tune and On Time chronicles DJ Shadow's 2002 Brixton Academy show in London. The CD contains 20 tracks, while the DVD features four additional tracks, a sampler battle between Shadow, Cut Chemist and Jurassic 5's DJ Nu-Mark from a show in LA, road footage and an interview with Shadow. Sounds like a must-have for fans.

Well, now it's 2004 and the label is saying that they hope to have Up Off The Floor released this summer.
