Epitaph Records is set to release the next installment in their annual sampler, Punk-O-Rama Vol. 9, on June 8th. Boasting acts such as Bad Religion, Pennywise, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, and The Bouncing Souls among others, the 24-track compilation also houses a free DVD of eleven music videos. The Truth Revealed

Saves the Day will be releasing an album of b-sides this summer. An announcement on their website promises "every little scrap of noise we recorded for the past seven to eight years, and may include ancient Sefler songs (previous incarnation of STD), with tons of old photos and special liner notes". An accompaning DVD may also be on the works. Be on the lookout for more details.

Hey Ya! Cartoonist

Word has come that OutKast's Andre 3000 is working to develop a potential animated series for the Cartoon Network. The special is still in the early stages of development but will likely be centered around Andre's life, although it could possibly feature his guitar playing, "Hey Ya!" video-starring alter-ego Johnny Vulture. The show will, of course, have a musical component that Andre will contribute original music to.

Deep Elm Records has announced a partnership with Downrip.com, an independent online music store specializing in the sale of MP3s. Over half of Deep Elm’s catalog will be available, and full-length albums can be purchased for as little as $8.79, CDEPs for as little as $2.79 and individual songs for $0.99.

On the Road With Sugar Ray

Sugar Ray will participate in "On the Road," a reality show for Spike TV, singer Mark McGrath told The Associated Press Monday. The show, set to air this summer, follows eight contestants who go on tour with Sugar Ray. They compete for a job with a music label and a new Kia car. After every show, the band will fire one of the contestants and then party as they count the piles of money they are getting paid to do the show.

A new feature film entitled Live Forever: The Rise and Fall of Brit Pop was released on DVD May 11th. The disc features music by Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Massive Attack, Nirvana, Portishead, Radiohead, Robbie Williams, The Stone Roses and The Verve and charts the rise and fall of the Brit-pop music scene in the UK during the mid-nineties.
