On October 5th Fahrenheit 9/11 will be released on DVD but more importantly a compilation CD made up of songs and artists that inspired the film will be released that day as well. Songs And Artists That Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11 will be spearheaded by the single "We Want It All", one of two previously unreleased tracks on the disc. The song is the first new music from Zack de la Rocha in five years and was produced by Trent Reznor. More details below.

Word has come that Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age), has stepped down as drummer for Eagles Of Death Metal. Taking Homme’s place behind the drums during their upcoming west coast tour is Joey Castillo. The complicated tour schedule, along with a bizarre note from J. Stop The Genocide

Waxploitation Records announced that it will release a charity CD in an attempt to assist in the fight against the Genocide taking place right now in Sudan. The CD, titled Genocide in Sudan, is slated for a late November release and includes rarities from System of a Down, Gorillaz, Jurassic 5, Thievery Corporation, The Pretenders, The Nightwatchmen and Rise Against amongst others. The CD will be available at most major retailers as well as at online.

The uber-influential Wire will be releasing a DVD/CD, "Wire on the Box" on October 26. It will include the only know recording of a perormance from the 70s from the German music show "Rockpalast". Also look for a 20-minute interview with the band.

Team Sleep finally awakens

According to this MTV article it appears that Chino Moreno's side project Team Sleep isn't completely dead in the water. The debut disc (technically the second) is slated for a November 2nd release (tenatively I'm sure). The most insightful part of the article is the fact that you can expect the disc to feature collaborations with the likes of Mary Timony and Rob Crow, not names you'd generally associate with the Deftone.
