As of Thursday, October 14th, 2004 Brazil bassist Benjamin Hunt has left the band citing personal differences. The band will continue to honor their fall tour dates supporting Emery with tour manager Chris Swinney filling in for Hunt. The band's full-length, A Hostage and the Meaning of Life is in stores now.

Who is Bjork?

The first single from the latest Bjork album Medulla is apparently not "Oceania", but is in fact "Who Is It." One Little Indian will be releasing 2 CD singles featuring exclusive tracks and a DVD featuring the video. You can get all the details and watch the video by going here.

It looks like the upcoming Nine Inch Nails album will be completed this year and released in March of '05. It also looks like it won't be called Bleedthrough anymore, a new title (and tracklist) has been set but Trent isn't talking. For more on that and some news involving Nothing Studios follow me.

Soft Cell, Hard Pavement

Marc Almond, singer of the 80s synth-pop band Soft Cell, was in a motocycle accident in London yesterday. Almond (47) was the passenger on the bike and is currently in critical condition at a hospital in Whitechapel.

Pickled Queens

According to their official website, Queens of the Stone Age will be releasing their as-yet untitled new album in March 2005. They will be returning to the studio at the end of October to record 2 new songs in addition to the 18 already completed for the release.

Trouble in Motor City

Looks like Jack and Meg White of the White Stripes are being sued by James Diamond, who generally has his hands in everything when it comes to Detroit-based music. Diamond claims that he co-produced and collaborated on the band's wildly successful debut record. For their part, the Stripes are saying that the suit is "without merit."

Nick Cave has a Proposition

Add screenwriter to Nick Cave's list of talents. His screenplay The Proposition is currently being filmed in Australia, starring Guy Pearce and John Hurt, among others. According to The Badseeds website, the film is described as "a powerfully gripping story that tells of two brothers in conflict." Oooo, sounds juicy!

Down on the Upside

On November 16th Pearl Jam will release a greatest hits package entitled rearviewmirror that will serve as their final under Epic. The 33 tracks will be split into two discs dubbed Upside and Downside. The set will not feature any new or unreleased music, instead three tracks from Ten will be included as remixes.

Giant Radiohead DVD

If you go over the Radiohead official website, you'll find details on the pre-sale of a new DVD entitled The Most Gigantick Lying Mouth Of All Time. On the DVD is over 110 minutes of short films and other tasty tidbits from the band, some of which apparently even the BBC wouldn't air. Got you wondering, doesn't it?

Apparently, the star of such cult hits as Natural Born Killers and Kalifornia Juliette Lewis is having so much fun doing the music thing that her band, Juliette & the Licks are doing another round of tour dates this fall.
