311 released their 3-11 Day Live Concert DVD today, and you should have already picked it up because the stores are now closed. The double-DVD set called 311 Day 2004 / Live In New Orleans, documents the band's March 11th, 2004 performance at the UNO Lakefront Arena with 5 hours of live concert footage, along with burlesque dancers, stilt walkers, fire eaters and other visual spectaculars.

Last week the Minneapolis venue The Quest hosted a benefit for Karl Mueller (bassist for Soul Asylum who was recently was diagnosed with throat cancer - now in remission). Performers included Soul Asylum, Paul Westerberg, Bob Mould, Golden Smog and The Gear Daddies. Perhaps the most surprising was Bob Mould playing with Grant Hart (first time in 17 years). They played two Husker Du songs together ("Never Talking To You Again" & "Too Far Down").
Goldfrapp will release tjheir new DVD, Wonderful Electric – Live in London on November 2nd. The 2-disc set features Goldfrapp live at Somerset House in July 2003, and a live show from November 2001 at the Shepherd's Bush Empire. Both concerts are in 5.1 surround sound. Following in the illustrious footsteps of John Williams, which is an odd way to think of it, Jarvis Cocker of Pulp will be scoring the next Harry Potter film, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire. Word is that Jarvis, who bears an uncanny resemblence to Potter, will also be making a cameo in the film and has roped Franz Ferdinand into contributing a song for the soundtrack. What an interesting development.

The release is a 2 disc set, including a nine camera live concert DVD, shot in Hi-Def and recorded in Brooklyn NY June '04. The package also contains a bonus 13 track live CD featuring all of Aimee's hits and live versions of 2 new songs from her upcoming studio album.
