Ol' Dirty Bastard (aka Big Baby Jesus, Dirt McGirt, Russell Jones) collapsed and died in a New York City recording studio on Saturday. A cause of death has not yet been determined. We'll miss you Dirt.

The dates for next years Sub City TAKE ACTION! Tour have been set and are shown below. Early line-up confirmations for the fifth annual tour include headlining act Sugarcult with Head Automatica, The Early November, and Hawthorne Heights supporting. More acts will be announced soon.

We have received word of the first ever U.S. tour dates by acclaimed Parisian pop-modernists Phoenix. To commemorate these dates, a 10-track live album Thirty Days Ago will be released digitally in the U.S. on November 30th.

Damon Gough has just released his first major DVD - Badly Drawn Boy: The Video Collection, which features his best videos with a few special extra performances. The DVD is a comprehensive collection of all of Damon's videos prior to the release of his most recent album One Plus One Is One.

Instead of releasing one new album sometime in the late quarter of this year System Of A Down has announced that they will release two albums during 2005. The band has stated that they "had two albums' worth of really great songs" and felt it a waste to par it all down to one album. Hypnotize and Mesmerize will be released six months apart - the first hitting stores probably in the late spring. More from the band in this MTV article.

The ladies of Le Tigre recruited Junior Senior and NDB to create some exclusive remixes for iTunes and Napster that you can find below. Le Tigre's new album This Island is in stores now and the band is currently touring the US and Canada, remaining tour dates are below as well.

In July 2004, Jay-Z and Linkin Park combined forces at West Hollywood's Roxy Theatre for a one-off performance. This meeting of musical minds, inspired by mutual admiration, resulted in a pretty rad collection of new songs entitled Collision Course that will be released on November 30th as a CD/DVD. Rufus Wainwright is set to release Want Two on Dreamworks/Geffen Records November 16th. As mentioned before, the release features additional recordings taken from the Want One sessions now available on CD paired with a full-length 100 minute DVD concert Rufus Wainwright Live at the Fillmore. Midtown is about to return back home from Europe, and begin their tour with Matchbook Romance and Hidden In Plain View.
