Twenty-five years after The Cure began their global pop invasion with their debut disc, Three Imaginary Boys , Rhino Records gives the album its first-ever U.S. domestic release with a deluxe two-disc edition loaded with previously unreleased tracks and a 16 page booklet filled with photos and tour memorabilia from the personal archives of vocalist Robert Smith, as well as a track-by-track commentary and notes by U.K. music scribe Johnny Black. Rilo Kiley front woman Jenny Lewis will be releasing a solo album on the Team Love label sometime in the summer of 2005. The disc was recorded in six days with longtime pal Mike Mogus.

Incubus turn on Stealth mode

The band claims to not be recording a new album until 2006 but Incubus will be working on scoring the music for the upcoming film "Stealth." Brandon Boyd says that the music will be "largely out of character for us, which is excting." To tide over fans they plan to release another bootleg or two on their site.

A new DVD series entitled "Burn To Shine" is set to be released on January 20th via Trixie. The concept here being to get a bunch of bands together to play spontaneously at a building that is set to be destroyed later in the day. The first disc features peformances by Ted, Q and not U, The Evens, Weird War and Bob Mould playing at a house in DC set to be burned by the fire department later in the day. The series is directed by Brendan Canty of Fugazi.

Do They Know It's Beneficial

U2's Bono, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Dido, Robbie Williams, Travis' Fran Healy and the Darkness' Justin Hawkins have scant things in common, but one of such is that they are all on Band Aid 20's version of "Do They Know It's Christmas," which benefits refugees in the war-torn Darfur region of the Sudan. The first exhibit of Bob Dylan's life and work, "Bob Dylan's American Journey 1956-1966," is now on display at Seattle's Experience Music Project through 2005. The exhibit will travel to Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame also, just in case you can't make it.

The Real Space Mtn

Check out Space Mtn, a West Coast band that is starting to pick up some buzz. The band just played an acoustic set on KSCR in LA last week and recently filmed a video for their song "Hovercraft" with with director Joaqiun Baca-Asay. Their debut album A Drawing of a Memory of a Photograph of You is set to drop in 2005, and you can check out the tracks "Hovercraft" and "I Die" thanks to your friends at Silent Uproar.

These sets are all 3-5 tracks of acoustic performances that cannot be found anywhere other than right here.

Death Cab For Cutie have signed a deal with Atlantic Records. Frontman Ben Gibbard ensures fans on the bands official site that the only difference between old Death Cab releases and future major-label Death Cab releases will be the presence of an Atlantic Records logo.

Chicagoing the Phantom Planet DVD

Phantom Planet will release their first DVD, Chicago, Chicagogoing, Chicagogone on Dec. 14th via Epic Records. The disc features loads of live footage including 16 tracks from a performace at Schuba's in Chicago (natche). Also expect to find the bands videos, their first live apperance ever, and their set from the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan.
