It looks like NYC musical landmark CBGB might be forced to close come August due to rising rent costs and a dispute with the homeless charity that owns the building. There are a few more details here. I know that all good things must end, but damn.
When it rains it pours for Brian Wilson fans. The recently finally released Smile has spurned a bunch of tour dates and now a DVD will be released on May 24th entitled Brian Wilson Presents Smile. The two disc set will include the Showtime documentary Beautiful Smile: Brian Wilson and the Story of Smile, four interviews with Wilson himself, a 5.1 Surround Sound mix of the album, outtakes, studio footages, and five piano-based performances of Smile songs.
Smog will release A River Ain’t Too Much To Love on May 23rd.
