Well, they say art imitates life? Or is it life imitates art? Oh well, you know what I mean. I cannot find a reedemable quality in Avril Lavigne, and this kinda underscores it: April Levine (no evidence to the contrary, sorry) has recorded a version of Bob Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" (argh! ye gods!) for a compilation of peace songs to benefit War Child, which you might've heard about before. The CD, called simply Peace Songs, will be released in Canada on April 15th, and a U.S. release is being planned for May. The track listing isn't yet final, but Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Bryan Adams, Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), and Barenaked Ladies and Leonard Cohen are also participating.
