Now, before you run and load up your filesharing program of choice, be aware that some sources are reporting that what's leaked are demos and not the real thing (I dunno, it sounds like the real deal to me). Of course, we'll keep you posted about all of this, so stay tuned. Oh, and here's a tracklist, just in case you're curious.

Schmit, Jim Keltner, John Waite, Billy Bob Thornton and Zevon's son Jordan. Why all the guests? This is going to be Zevon's final album, as he was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer in August. Damn Peace Songs

Reported by erun

I cannot find a reedemable quality in Avril Lavigne, and this kinda underscores it: April Levine (no evidence to the contrary, sorry) has recorded a version of Bob Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" (argh! ye gods!) for a compilation of peace songs to benefit War Child, which you might've heard about before. The CD, called simply Peace Songs, will be released in Canada on April 15th, and a U.S. release is being planned for May. The track listing isn't yet final, but Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Bryan Adams, Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), and Barenaked Ladies and Leonard Cohen are also participating.
