No, We Don't Wish You Were Here Anymore

Reported by heyrevolver

According to the band's official website, it seems Incubus have parted ways with bass player Alex Katunich, aka Dirk Lance. Despite the somewhat bad news, frontman Brandon Boyd reported a "warning," because "the music [the band is] currently composing for the next record will be like melted chocolate on your chests and necks!" Oh joy. I can only imagine the next radio smash-hits with their gummy, pop sing-a-long choruses. Maybe Dirk Lance is the smart one?

11,976 Didn't Walk Out

Reported by heyrevolver

According to several reports across the Internet, it seems that several fans walked out of a recent Pearl Jam show in Denver, CO, after frontman Eddie Vedder impailed a George W Bush mask with a mic stand. He showed support for the troops, lambasted makers of foreign policy and showed disgust for the current war in Iraq, which seemed to be too much for a few fans. However, after reading a couple other sites' take on this event, it seems that reports are being grossingly exaggerated. Yes, "dozens" of fans left the show. But, according to Pearl Jam's fan-based website, only about two dozen of the 12,000 people there walked out. Everyone else was "loudly applauding" and enjoying the show. Even a hometown reporter failed to mention the minor walkouts. Who you going to believe?

The full tracklisting for the album is in the always informative [more] section and I would share the tour dates but they are all overseas. More dates will likely follow stateside once the album hit shelves sometime in July.

Looks like the new Deftones will be self-titled, as previously thought. You can head over to deftonesworld.com and check out the album art (no title on the front equals self-titled, we assume). Look for that menacing cover in stores on May 20th! And for the obsessive in all of us, here's a link to the Deftones' online team.

Kiddie porn S&M

Reported by ben

Well here's one that will take more than a few by surprise... the Russian, teenage, lesbian, and exploitation pop sensation that is T.A.T.U. is set to collaborate on a project with Rammstein. You remember them, they're those German industro-whatever guys with a stage show involving a more fire than a MOAB. It remains to be seen what form the project will take, but I wouldn't expect it to be as interesting as it sounds like it could be.

I be like the pigeons, eatin' birdseed and shit

Guess where Ol' Dirty Bastard is now!? If you said "in prison", you'd be wrong. After recently completing his stint in the slammer, ODB has been swiftly transferred to a mental institution where he'll stay until at least July because he's 'unsafe to return to the general public'. No actual diagnosis, but I'd feel pretty confident in guessing that he falls somewhere into the schizo area of mental disorders. Poor guy. He obviously won't be joining the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan in their tour of Israel next month.

The Offspring, who recently said goodbye to longtime drummer Ron Welty, have decided to plow on and have announced that they'll call their new album Chinese Democracy. Yes, it's a reference to that Chinese Democracy. Says Offspring frontman Dexter Holland about the title, "You snooze, you lose. Axl ripped-off my braids, so I ripped-off his album title."

"War" Singer Passes Away

Reported by heyrevolver

"War! Uh! What is it good for? Absolutely nonthin!" -- I'm sure you've heard the song and it's perhaps just as relevant now as it was when it came out during the Vietnam conflict in 1970. Unfortunately, the man who sang the song, Edwin Starr, has passed away. Starr had a long career as an R&B and soul star, mostly overseas, but he was best known for "War". People may not know the man, but his song will always be remembered. Starr was 61.
