Warp Records has yet to start promotion on the release, so there are no other details nor a US release date (though we can assume it'll probably be May 6th).

Vive La Vinyl

Reported by erun

Apparently dance fans have been clamoring for two 1996 seminal, pre-Daft Punk French dance albums... Etienne de Crecy's Superdiscount and Pansoul. Seven years later, Astralweks has decided to re-release the disc and send it to the US with a bonus disc featuring an hour's worth of rare, early material including the Mo' Wax E.P. Transphunk. Not only that, but a 2 x LP vinyl version is also available for "completists and DJs." Or just people who like French dance music on vinyl.

Do You Care? It's Funny Either Way.

Reported by erun

"We're looking for a guitar player. If you think you got the chops, we need you. And it would definitely be cool if our guitar player was from Japan. Ooooh." Oooh? Anyway, Limp Bizkit fronthog Fred Durst is at his most obnoxious again, planning to recruit a Japanese guitarist for Limp's upcoming world tour. Apparently former Snot axe man Mike Smith was too good. You can see the entire blubbering of Durst on the band's official Japanese site, limpbizkit.jp.

Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth has now placed sixty anti-war songs on his new Web site, protest-records.com, for free download. In addition to the earlier offerings by the Beastie Boys ("In a World Gone Mad"), Sonic Youth ("Youth Against Facism"), Cat Power ("Rockets," "Maybe Not"), Jim O'Rourke and Glenn Kotche (a cover of Bill Fay's "Pictures of Adolf") and Chumbawumba ("Jacob's Ladder"), the site has recently added a pair of songs by the Moldy Peaches' Kimya Dawson ("Viva la Persistence," "Anthrax") and tracks by Jonny Polansky and Peter Stuart. The stencils by New York City artist Chris Habib that ben mentioned are still there too.

Reported by heyrevolver

We mentioned the As Daylight Breaks soundtrack a few months back, but we thought we'd give you a bit more info. For a tracklisting, click "more" and for information on the film, check out asdaylightbreaks.com. All proceeds from the film and CD will go to the Jacob's Cure charity.
