Ain't Got Nothin' But Time

Reported by heyrevolver

Hank Williams III, who's been known to cover both Slayer and Willie Nelson in the same night, has got two albums waiting to be released: Thrown Out of the Bar, which features more country-oriented tunes, and Ass Jack, a heavy rock record. The latter has been sitting on the shelf for over two years because his label's been reluctant to release something so different. He hasn't been discouraged, though -- he's released several albums as official bootlegs through his website. His philosophy? "I'm just stockpiling my shit in case I die on a fucking plane on the way to Europe or something."

Andrew WK will not Blow Your Bone

Reported by yewknee

As we previously told you, Andrew W.K. is in a New York recording studio working on his new album which he plans to call Blow Your Bone. We have now learned that the album may have up to two dozen songs on it - including such future classics as "I Am Totally Stupid", "Never Ending Party", "Violent Life", and "Close Calls With Brick Walls." I'd harp on the guy some more but from what I can tell, he really is the nicest guy in Rock N' Roll.

Relentless

Reported by ben

Don't spend too much time wondering who's going to be on the next Queens of the Stone Age album. While the line-up has always been famously in limbo, the current Queens of the Stone Age are now "permanent" members. That line-up, of course, is Nick Oliveri, Josh Homme, Mark Lanegan, Troy Van Leeuwen, and Joey Castillo. While touring for the rest of the year, the band plans to record their next album and have it set for an early 2004 release (the album is already written). In the midst of all this QOTSA business, Nick Oliveri is going to find time to release and tour briefly behind Mondo Generator's latest album A Drug Problem That Never Existed and Josh Homme is going to release the recently recorded Desert Sessions 9/10. They're very busy, busy bees.

And the award for lamest album title goes to...

Reported by ben

Jane's Addiction expects to release Hypersonic, its first album in nearly a generation (adjusting for teenage pregnancy here) around mid-summer... Perry Farrell has mentioned July 15th as a good possibility. The uncertainty over the release date can certainly be attributed to the band not having signed a record contract since leaving Warner Bros. However, the album has been mastered (it's done) and the band hopes to have songs debut on the radio in a few weeks. They'll be doing Lollapalooza this year, in case you hadn't heard.

Abbey Road Or Bust!

Reported by heyrevolver

According to Fiona Has Wings, Fiona Apple and producer/musician-extraordinaire Jon Brion are off to England to finishing up tracking on Apple's new album at Abbey Road Studios. Apparently, almost all of the recording is done, with the exception of orchestral strings. Drummer Matt Chamberlain may show up for another recording session after he wraps up other responsibilities. Some sources are claiming July 22nd as very, very tentative date for the album's release, but we all should know better.

We've seen her underpants, now she's in France

Reported by yewknee

The seemingly endless troublemaker Courtney Love has been reported to be in France recording her album tenatively entitled America's Sweetheart with producer Jim Barber. The album is expected to hit shelves in the fall, but from who? The always honest frontwoman is in talks with EMI, V2, and Sanctuary among others. Love is gearing up to play the UK Reading and Leeds Festivals in August, more than likely followed by more European and U.S. dates.

Sammy Saves The Day

Reported by heyrevolver

The Movielife drummer Evan Baken was recently injured while driving the band's van cross-country, en route to NYC. Instead of cancelling their upcoming UK tour in support of their new record, 40 Hour Train Back to Penn, the band have enlisted Rival Schools drummer Sammy Seigler to fill in on the overseas dates. You can see a current tour schedule over at pollstar.com.

On second thought...

Reported by yewknee

We told you that Incubus was trying to release themselves from their Sony / Epic Records recording contract, but it seems that the two have kissed and made up. After the band sued the label, they were counter-sued and ugliness ensued. However, the label has agreed to pay the band an advance of $8 million, had them agree to delivering two more albums (both with $2.5 million advances) and an option for another. So next time you're at an Incubus concert, ask yourself why those t-shirts are $30? In other Incubus news, the band continues to work on their followup to Morning View.

Only AA, Thinkin' XXX

Reported by erun

Peaches is in a Berlin studio recording the follow-up to her underground-adored debut, The Teaches of Peaches. Again, she made the entire album by herself... Well, she had a little help between songs "Shake Your Dicks" and "Stuff Me Up" from Iggy Pop on the song "Kick It." No title so far, but we'll let you know.
