The Good Life is set to release their Lovers Need Lawyers EP this May 18th through our friends at Saddle Creek. The album weill be released on CD and colored 10" vinyl and is a precursor to the next full length due out this August. Note to readers: The Good Life is Tim Kasher of Cursive's other band.

Now It's Overhead released their latest disc Fall Back Open last Tuesday - March 9th, 2004 and their full US tour continues into May (tour dates are listed below). Note to readers: Andy LeMaster of Now It's Overhead is also in the band Bright Eyes. Starting to see a trend here?

Azure Ray have now released the second single, "New Resolution," from their acclaimed full-length Hold On Love. We already posted details about that, but we also wanted to let you know that the band is on tour and you can find the dates below.

Sony Music Soundtrax is set to release The Ladykillers - Music From The Motion Picture, the soundtrack album from the upcoming movie on March 23rd. The disc marks the first time producer T Bone Burnett and filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen have collaborated on a film soundtrack since the album of music from O Brother, Where Art Thou?.

Ben Folds hits the road this April with a new album due out this summer. Folds will start the spring off playing a series of solo piano college campus gigs leading up to the release of the album. The following dates are confirmed and additional dates are to be announced:

Chevelle have announced that they have written 7 songs for their new record and will be going into the studio in just a few weeks. The band has completed a song for the Punisher soundtrack, "Still Running," and has also said that the track will most likely show up in "some way" on the record. The band has also decided to record the album in their home town of Chicago.

Funeral For A Friend have set July 13th as the release date for their Atlantic Records debut Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation. In addition to this news, the band has also lined up a full U.S. tour with Coheed And Cambria that is scheduled to begin March 28th. Here is the band's upcoming tour schedule:

That is so much freaking news!! Lot's of great new things coming up including new interviews with Metric, the Yeah Yeah Yeah's, the Statistics, the Beta Band, and the Von Bondies. The Juliana Theory is taking a break from writing the follow-up to their 2003 album Love to embark on a five-week tour covering parts of the US and Canada. The Juliana Theory has already written 20-25 songs toward its next album, a few of which will get road tested on the upcoming tour. Check out them dates below fool.

A new album entitled How Soon As Now that features Morrissey & Smiths covers by Hundred Reasons, Million Dead, Yourcodenameis:Milo, Read Yellow, Cursive and other has been announced. The compilation will drop on Sorepoint in the UK and has a pencilled in release date of May 31st.

On May 11th, Badman Recording Company will release a benefit CD for the San Francisco based charity, Shanti Project. Called Shanti Project Collection 3, the release will feature new and rare tracks from Sigur Ros, Arab Strap, Black Heart Procession, Kinski, and Califone, with each band contributing a pair of songs. San Francisco's Shanti Project works to improve the quality of life for people with life-threatening or chronic illnesses.

Starbucks (or as I like to call them 'the devil of coffee') has announced a partnership with HP to offer a new in-store downloading service. The service will allow customers to download music, burn discs, and print album art. Major record labels have already signed on and 2,500 stores are to be outfitted with the new download stations. The cost for the download service will be $6.99 for the minimum 5-song download and $12.95 for full albums.

Blink 182 has cancelled all remaining dates with Brand New on their Australian/Japan tour after Travis Barker injured his foot. Rescheduled dates will be announced soon, the band will still play their North American dates as planned starting April 3 in Honolulu.

It has been announced that a four-CD Hip Hop Box (Hip-O Records/UMe) will be released April 20, 2004, and will bring together 51 of the genre's greatest turning points, highlights, landmarks and breakthroughs, each digitally remastered. Starring most of hip hop's greatest artists, from the Sugarhill Gang of 1979 to the 50 Cent of 2003, the tracks were culled from dozens of record labels. View the complete track listing below.
